The John Frost Bridge

During Operation Market Garden, the British 1st Airborne Division, led by Lieutenant Colonel John Frost, held the Rhine Bridge at Arnhem against fierce German resistance. Despite being vastly outnumbered, they managed to maintain control for four days until a ceasefire allowed evacuation of wounded soldiers, including Frost. The bridge was later renamed the John Frost Bridge in his honor.

Hoge Veluwe National Park

Just 8 km north of downtown Arnhem, is the Netherlands' largest nature reserve, spanning 13,800 acres. It's a haven for diverse wildlife like deer, wild boar, and bird species. With 1,700 complimentary white bikes, it's perfect for cyclists, while walkers can explore scenic trails through woodland, heath, and sandy dunes. Highlights include a sculpture park featuring Rodin and Noore's works and the Kröller-Müller Museum with 19th- and 20th-century European art.
